The bolt holds
the door closed.
On a locked door, the bolt extends into the frame. Some doors lock at multiple points. A locked door therefore needs a different assessment from one that has simply fallen shut.
Security fittings or a multi-point lock?
Tell us the door model if you know it. A photo of the fittings and whether the key still turns help us prepare. We clarify unknown features with you; not all security doors can be opened in the same way.
Discuss opening and replacement parts separately
Depending on the locking mechanism, opening may affect the cylinder or other parts. Before starting, we explain the planned work and whether replacements will be needed. Parts and fitting must then be included in the agreed total price.
Key lost or stolen?
After opening the door, consider who could use the missing key. Replacing the cylinder may be sensible. Tell us beforehand if it belongs to a master key system. For replacement guidance, see lock and cylinder replacement.
The key turns but the door will not open?
Describe exactly what moves and what is stuck. We need to distinguish between a normal locking mechanism and a fault. Do not force the key further, as it may break.
